Ethics, Compliance & Non-Retaliation
Standards for honest conduct, conflicts of interest, responsible stewardship, reporting concerns, and protection from retaliation.
Effective: August 18, 2026
Expected conduct
Directors, officers, employees, contractors, and volunteers are expected to act honestly, protect individual rights, follow applicable requirements, use organizational resources responsibly, maintain appropriate boundaries, and place the welfare of people served above personal gain.
Conflicts of interest
Actual, potential, or perceived conflicts should be disclosed promptly to appropriate leadership. A person with a conflict should not improperly influence the related decision, and the organization should document how the matter is addressed.
Compliance reporting
Good-faith concerns about fraud, misuse of funds, falsified records, rights violations, unsafe practices, privacy breaches, discrimination, or other misconduct may be reported to a supervisor, executive leader, or appropriate external authority.
No retaliation
Retaliation against a person who raises a good-faith concern, refuses an unlawful instruction, requests an accommodation, contacts an advocate, or participates in an investigation is prohibited. Knowingly false reports may be addressed through appropriate procedures, but an unsubstantiated good-faith report is not misconduct.
